Client comfort

Most probably, your clients already hold you in high regard.  But even the most loyal clients appreciate extra comfort.

Here are a few proven techniques to increase a client’s comfort with you, and with the advice and service you offer.

  • When you write an article or give a presentation, circulate copies to clients and contacts  -  it will confirm your credibility as an expert, as well as showing you’re thinking of your client.
  • Invite clients to seminars and educational forums where you can both showcase your expertise and add value by transferring knowledge.
  • Ask for feedback  -  directly, indirectly, through surveys, formally and informally  -  it confirms to your client that s/he’s made the right choice:  a professional who cares about getting it right.
  • Be easy to deal with  -  wherever possible communicate with clients their way  -  if a client loves email, use email;  if a client resists phone calls, take the hint and do more face-to-face.
  • Save your client’s money whenever you can  -  and remember to tell the client that you’ve done this.
  • Tell the client you appreciate their business  -  and treat him/her as a VIP.
  • Always aim to deliver value in excess of your fee  -  and check with the client that you’re achieving this.
