Louder than your size

What clients and markets "know" may not be quite so. 

Our research on behalf of professional service firms has turned up hundreds of examples of decisionmakers  -  substantial purchasers of expert legal services  -  "knowing" things that just aren't so, often to the detriment of an incumbent hardworking professional team.

Conversely, a few firms are much "louder than their size".  Put another way, they "punch above their weight".

Here are some simple techniques you can embrace to achieve higher visibility and add more weight to your brand.

Make every piece of collateral super high quality
.  Whether a letter, brochure, business card, proposal, or your website, a consistent high-quality brand statement will help you move up to the next level.

Use media and PR.
  Consider getting external help to improve your inherent credibility through these channels.

Raise your industry profile
.  Speak, write, teach, publish, comment, and participate within target industries.

Go for public recognition
.  Obtain credentials and publicise them.  Pursue awards and leverage your achievements.

Help clients gain accolades
.  List the awards and prizes for outstanding achievements which your clients can pursue and help them go after accolades.  The ultimate testimonial is a client who gains public or industry recognition related to your work for them  -  it's a powerful credibility-builder for you.

Behave like a model of business and professional success
.  (That doesn't mean that you need to buy a Rolls Royce !)  Prospects, clients, and markets make a host of assumptions about your credentials and credibility based on your presentation and behaviour.  Consistently behaving like a strategically-savvy success story will help you become that enduring success. 

You'll "punch above your weight" and be much "louder than your size".
