Libby Maynard

With over two decades of diverse experience in professional services as a lawyer, management consultant, and senior general manager, Libby successfully engages with firms to improve outcomes and drive growth.

Libby has helped scores of professional services firms to:

  • optimise business development investment through independent review, planning, appropriate budgeting, and effective deployment of resources
  • create competitive advantage by building business development competencies and improved sales performance
  • achieve practical outcomes and tangible results by managing major projects
  • manage gaps and changes.

Libby has developed and delivered a variety of skills development programmes, seminars, and workshops tailored to meet professional service firms business objectives and achieve sustainable results. 

She holds dual training accreditations as an independent sales performance consultant for Miller Heiman and facilitator for TMS  -  Team Management Profile workshops and consulting. In early 2009, Libby decided on a consulting career and has joined JMA to achieve greater depth and reach.

Libby spent nine years in senior marketing and business development roles at DLA Phillips Fox.  She led a team of 40 to deliver marketing and business development services to 700 lawyers across eight locations in Australia and New Zealand.  Throughout this time, she delivered clearly better outcomes within a diminishing budget.  For three years Libby lectured at the University of Melbourne law school Graduate Diploma of Law Firm Management.


In 2011 Libby was awarded a Fullbright Professional Business/ Industry Coral Sea Scholarship to visit the USA in 2011 to research methodologies for measuring and evaluating the performance of community legal services for women experiencing family breakdown and violence. 

Libby has served as a board member of several not-for-profit organisations, is currently on the Board of Women’s Legal Service Victoria, and has recently been awarded the Victorian Women's Not for Profit Governance Scholarship for further training in the Australian Institute of Company Directors highly respected Company Directors' Course.

Libby is an active member of the senior marketer’s group at Australasian Professional Services Marketing Association and past committee member. 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, as well as a Masters of Business Administration.  Libby is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia.
